from 41 reviewsA friend of mine is battling cancer and was stuck at home, so we came to her house to keep her company. I thought this tasting kit was perfect for our get-together. The tasting turned into a multi-hour event and really lifted her spirits. After knowing Kim Wilson and supporting her efforts for many years, I have learned a lot of about the cacao industry. These women knew nothing about the industry and would only buy the big-name chocolate brands. Everyone was blown away by the female farmers/chocolate makers in the video. They had no idea this was going on. I was able to share a lot about what Cocoa Future Collaborative is trying to do. Our hands-down favorite chocolate bars were the Levelez 58% with Raspberries and Masphi 65% with cacao pulp. I am so proud of Kim's and the Collaborative's efforts. I think I have tried most of the tasting kits and highly recommend all of them.
Having invited friends for dinner, my girlfriend and I arranged your chocolate selections for a tasting as our dessert. Setting out chocolates on separate plates we
Had the producers’ pictures and stories on display for a multisensory tasting experience. The differences in flavor and texture were striking, and all were superb! Such a terrific way to support women entrepreneurs worldwide- thank you for creating a pathway for us to support them!
This was so fun. I surprised my boyfriend with this for Valentine's Day and he was so sincerely delighted when he opened it up. We had a tasting and read all of the biographies. How fun to try so many at one sitting and to identify the notes that were listed on the postcard bios.We even saved the rest for a dinner party a few weeks later so that we could taste and judge with our friends. It was a big hit.I especially loved the Mashpi 65% Dark Chocolate Bar Filled with Cacao Pulp from Ecuador (the pulp was surprising - tart sweet and jelly like. Nice variety of bars with peppercorns, raspberry, Nigerian spices....I would order this again but now I see that you have other tasting packages to try as well! So worth it!!!
I ordered this tasting as "dessert" for a Galentine's gathering. It was really fun - and each bar was SO different, memorable, and delicious. The packaging was pretty too!
We followed the suggested tasting order - and passed around the info cards and packaging for everyone to see. Different women took turns reading the cards out loud to the group. We were interested and amazed by the women's stories! It felt special to get to taste products from so many different countries.
Our group size was 11. One bar only served 10 people, but otherwise, the quantity was perfect for our group. There weren't many leftovers - ha ha - and those we did have were quickly claimed!
I have never done a chocolate tasting of this quality before and it was such an eye (and taste!) opening experience. It’s an absolute must try from chocolate curious to connoisseur. The lovely tasting chart that comes with the chocolate was beautiful and the story of each chocolate maker was so wonderful and wide ranging. It truly felt like I went on a global tour and got to enjoy the best chocolates from around the world. Thank you for offering this amazing experience, Kim! So grateful for you.
There are not even adequate words. Sheer joy.
Above and beyond the awesomeness of scrumptious chocolate (which is glorious!), what I love are the reasons, the values, the cause. It is so deeply moving to participate in a movement of bringing justice and love and honor to cacao farmers and local chocolate kitchens in different parts of the world, especially in regions that tend to be suffer from inadequate or insufficient resources.
So much joy. Enjoy every bite.
The Cocoa Future chocolate tasting is a masterclass in experiential learning that successfully bridges the gap between high-quality craftsmanship and global social responsibility. This is not merely a consumption event but a structured, guided tour of flavor profiles that meticulously walks participants through the nuance of origin, processing, and terroir. The sequencing of the tasting is particularly effective, building complexity in a way that remains accessible to novices while engaging seasoned palates. For families, this offers a unique, interactive activity that goes beyond entertainment to provide a tangible lesson in global economics and ethical consumption. The core value proposition, however, lies in its direct connection to empowering women and disadvantaged farming communities. By making the supply chain transparent, Cocoa Futures transforms a simple indulgence into a powerful tool for economic equity. This experience is highly recommended for anyone seeking a meaningful, educational, and sensory-rich activity that drives real-world impact.
I bought this for a Galentines with 2 other gal pals. We so enjoyed taking a tour around the world, learning about the different chocolates and processes, and guessing the tasting notes! The pamphlet is super informative and fun to walk through like a virtual tasting tour around the world. We agreed we’d love to do this again and it’s a really fun activity to do with a friend/mom/etc! Highly recommend!
This was described as a tasting for two, but I shared it with two others and had plenty leftover. We had so much fun reading the various descriptions then trying the chocolates. It was such a helpful way of seeing how different chocolate can taste - such a range of flavor notes. We all learned we had different preferences. Thanks for the fun adventure!
This was a wonderful gift for my colleagues at work! They loved learning about the chocolate and enjoyed sharing the experience with others. Several of them mentioned how it was one of the most unique, special gifts they had ever received!
Our tasting group was aged 14-75, so we had a variety of preferences and opinions to bring to the table. This tasting opened our eyes to the diversity of chocolate, brought laughter and conversation, and allowed us to create some new memories through a shared experience. We had some fan favorites and a few that were really unique and not preferred but even these made for funny faces and great dialogue. I look forward to trying some other options soon.
This is a gorgeous product. Gorgeous in wrapping, gorgeous in presentation of origin information, gorgeous in taste. We actually did this with a group of nine, after a dinner appointment was canceled and I had an extra box. Some bars were still reasonably large squares, and some were like mini chocolate chips, but this is such good chocolate, it was all flavorful. (Which is to say: this would be best for two, but the portions are generous, so it still works with a larger group.)
If you're looking for a client gift, or a unique date, or a celebratory gift (graduation, home sale, etc.), this is an excellent option.
Interesting to taste genuine chocolate that are sustainably made. They taste really special compared to commercial retail chocolates!
I enjoyed learning about the different chocolate makers and the chocolate flavors were all so intriguing and delicious! I would definitely recommend the experience!
Each bar had a unique flavor, and the video provided great content to learn more about how to buy better chocolate.
