After having sampled more than 170 different dark chocolate bars from many different makers, Argencove is my favorite brand by far. I gave this one 8.5 out of 10 on my own personal grading scale, and probably would have graded it 9 if it was slightly less sweet. As with all Argencove bars I've sampled, it has a wonderful flavor, very smooth mouthfeel, and very little, if any, astringency or bitterness.
On my own personal grading scale of 1 to 10, I graded this 8. It has an enjoyable aroma, a smooth mouthfeel, and a very nice flavor. The bar is quite thick, so it is a bit difficult to break into smaller pieces. I like the fact that the pouch is resealable. I mostly prefer chocolate in the range of 80-90% cacao, so this one is a little sweeter than I prefer, but still very good.
This is a delicious chocolate bar! I love the crunch of the nuts and the packaging is beautiful. It would make a really nice gift for someone. Highly recommend!
We donate a chocolate tasting every year to a family non profit gala each Oct. Winners love this auction item. We've used several tastings ourselves, once for a baby shower, with the grandkids, and one the day after a family wedding. Great family activity, interesting, and yummy too.
I ordered this tasting and then put together a dinner party for some of my gal friends. We all enjoyed this tasting b/c of how different the chocolate bars were. The packaging was also gorgeous as well as the info cards. We also used the videos to listen to the chocolate makers explain their chocolates. Really well done!
